Osmoflo, Australia's leading locally owned desalination company has joined with Penrice Soda Holdings to offer a brine management  solution for water  and sodium salts resulting from the production of coal seam gas.

Safe disposal of this water continues to be a challenge for coal seam gas production. It requires treatment before it can be released to the environment.

The brine management solution developed by Penrice and Osmoflo is both affordable and environmentally sustainable and involves total management of the water. It includes treatment and environmentally acceptable disposal options for both the water itself and the commercial salts removed during the process.

Remediation costs are reduced through the utlisation of the process while the standard of the treated water is suitable for beneficial reuse options. These can include new water for regional communities.

Penrice provides more than 75% of soda ash products used in Australia.
